The Alabama debate circuit is slowly dying, with few underclassmen entering and competing at local tournaments. Most interested students come from small or rural schools without the resources needed to support new debaters, such that attending tournaments in Alabama is prohibitively difficult. The Alabama Chapter is on a mission to support young talent with high-quality resources that can help them reach their full potential. Additional opportunities like free scrimmages and tournaments give debaters the ability to compete outside of the bureaucratic hurdles that make Alabama's speech and debate tournaments so difficult to get involved with.
