Katie Gorman is a junior at Woodlands Academy in Illinois, where she competes in Congressional and Policy Debate.
After becoming a student for the Equality in Forensics congress coaching program, Katie joined the national staff writing articles for the blog in April 2024. She was later promoted to Blog Editor-in-Chief, innovating the blog to become more solutions-focused and using a more creative Instagram format. In her capacity as Outreach Director, Katie has led Equality in Forensics' marketing campaigns at NSDA Nationals, the Equality in Forensics newsletter, and more. She frequently judges scrimmages and is an active member of the Illinois chapter. Along with this, she frequently aids the Chapter Director in strategizing the optimal way to advance resources, and often can be found meeting with chapter leadership in the Chapter Directors absence. She also led a majority of interviews and selection of both Directors and Deputy directors for the 2025-2026 season.
As Outreach Director, Katie leads the push to get the resources of Equality in Forensics to as many people as possible. In doing so, she has led a team in creating short-form content for Equality in Forensics, rapidly expanding the organization's presence on TikTok and other social media platforms.
