Nicholas Ostheimer

Hi, my name is Nicholas Ostheimer. I'm a sophomore, and have competed in congressional debate for 5 years. I champed tournaments like the UK National Speech & Debate Season Opener, Nova Titan, and Blue Key. I’ve earned a total of 9 bids at tournaments including Princeton, Sunvite, and Harvard. As the president of my school's speech and debate team, I've been coaching middle and high schoolers in various speech and debate events since 2019, leading our team to NSDA charter chapter status.

Sarah Yousif

Hi, my name is Sarah Yousif. I’m a junior, and have competed in debate for a total of 6 years (congress for 3). I’ve won the Michigan State Tournament 3 times, placed 10th at both Harvard and Emory, 7th at Sunvite, and finaled Glenbrooks. Along with this, I’ve made NSDA sems twice and TOC sems last year. I’ve earned a total of 12 bids at tournaments like Yale, Florida Blue Key and TOC. As captain of my school’s debate team, I’ve coached all levels from middle school to varsity, helping my team grow in a smaller congress state. Excited to work with you all!

Fiona Zhou

Hello, I’m Fiona Zhou, a sophomore at Westridge School. I’ve competed in congressional debate for 4 years. My accomplishments include Yale finals, Blue Key finals, 4th at MLK, Glenbrooks semis twice, TOC semis, and NSDA semis. I have 11 total bids to the Tournament of Champions.

CJ Getting

CJ Getting is a sophomore from Illinois competing in his 2nd year of Congressional Debate. He's currently a Team Assistant for his high school’s debate team, where he has coached both middle school and high school debaters for about a year. CJ has made it to semifinal rounds at the Yale Invitational and Illinois High School Association, as well as placing 7th at the TOC Digital Speech and Debate Series.

Arik Karim

Arik Karim (he/him) is a junior at Dreyfoos School of the Arts, debate captain of the Dreyfoos Debate Team, and the Event Director of Equality in Forensics. Arik primarily competes in Congressional Debate. Arik has semifinalled the 2022 NSDA National Tournament in Congress, been the runner-up at the 2022 FFL Varsity State Tournament in World Schools, and made outrounds at multiple national circuit tournaments. In his free time, Arik enjoys reading up on political philosophy while sipping on mint tea.
